Leeds United are on the verge of signing Real Madrid starlet Ousama Siddiki amid plans to immediately send him out on loan, according to a report.

The Sun claim the Yorkshire giants are closing in on the capture of the Moroccan 19-year-old, who has already been pictured at the club's Elland Road headquarters.

It is said that Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen will assess the teenager and may send Siddiki to Spanish club Cultural Leonesa on loan if he is not ready for the first team.

Siddiki, who has spent the last two years in the youth set-up of Spanish giants Real Madrid, has been targeted as United raid the academy sides of La Liga clubs.

The teenager is yet to make his senior competitive debut after rising through the ranks at Rayo Vallecano, Colmenar and Madrid.

Football Insider Verdict

Leeds have a clear plan of raiding Spain's big clubs for emerging stars with the potential to be first-team players of the future. Director of football Victor Orta, club director Ivan Bravo and Under-23s manager Corberan are integral to this policy put into effect under new owner Andrea Radrizzani. They appear convinced that Spain is a gold mine of developing talent who can be given opportunities at Leeds they are not getting at their current clubs. Siddiki hails from Morocco but has spent his entire footballing career on the Iberian peninsula. He might or might not become a big star in the future for Leeds, but he could at least prove a wise investment.
