Valencia are ready to table a bid for Leeds United playmaker Samuel Saiz, Football Insider understands.

The Europa League semi-finalists have a strong interest in the 28-year-old, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at La Liga club Getafe.

A Spanish source has told Football Insider that Valencia are set to enter the bidding at a figure well below Leeds' £6million valuation of Saiz.

The club, who are owned by billionaire Peter Lim, are set to initially offer around the £3million mark for Saiz, who is set to be sold by United this summer after quitting mid-season to return to his homeland.

The attacking midfielder joined Leeds in the summer of 2017 from relegated La Liga outfit Huesca for around £3million and was a key member of the team for 18 months.

Saiz scored 10 goals and supplied 12 assists in 58 appearances before engineering a loan-to-buy move to Madrid-based Getafe, who have an option, but no obligation, to make the deal permanent.

The Real Madrid academy product has started just two matches for Getafe during his loan and he is expected to transfer to a new Spanish club this summer.
