Samuel Saiz is set to follow Caleb Ekuban through the Leeds United exit door after making it clear to his representatives he wants to secure a permanent move in his homeland, Football Insider understands.

Striker Ekuban, 24, is close to sealing an £860,000 permanent move to Trabzonspor after impressing during a season-long loan at the Turkish club.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Trabzonspor will trigger the option clause in Ekuban's loan-to-buy deal and the player has already agreed personal terms.

Saiz, 28, is also keen to make his exit from Elland Road a permanent one after joining La Liga club Getafe on loan in the January window.

He has been a fringe figure at the Madrid-based outfit, making just two starts in total and has been given only a brace of substitute performances since early February.

But the source said Saiz has his heart set on a permanent move to Spain and has instructed his agent to find him a new club, preferably in the top division.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa has given the green light for both Ekuban and Saiz to find new team and does not regard them as part of his plans going into next season.

Ekuban scored just twice in an injury-hit debut campaign at Leeds after signing from Italian Serie B side Chievo in the summer of 2017 but has thrived at Trabzonspor, where he has been a regular starter and scored eight goals and supplied three assists in his 33 appearances.

Saiz made a bigger impact at Leeds after his £3million arrival from Huesca, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists in 58 matches for the club.
