Rangers fans have expressed their delight on Twitter after the club agreed the terms of a new contract with rising star Liam Burt.

The official Rangers academy Twitter account has confirmed that the attacking midfielder, 19, has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension that runs until the summer of 2019.

The Scotland Under-21 international has made three senior appearances for the Gers and is hoping to challenge for a senior squad place after an impressive spell at Scottish Championship side Dumbarton last season.

Supporters of the Glasgow giants are certainly pleased that their club have tied down the youngster for at last another 12 months.
