Arsenal youngster Khayon Edwards is set to join Leyton Orient on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

The 20-year-old forward is set to join the League One side until the end of the 2023-24 season after striking an agreement with just hours remaining in the transfer window.

It is understood that both clubs are currently finalising the deal before it is publicly announced.

Edwards has been in fine form for Arsenal's youth side in Premier League 2 this season, scoring seven times in 10 total appearances.

He is highly rated by the Arsenal coaching staff and has been given the green light to go out on loan for the remainder of the season to gain experience in a senior side.

Edwards has been with Arsenal since the age of five, progressing through their academy ranks to become a star player in their Under-18s setup.

He is yet to make a senior appearance for the North London side.

Edwards boasts an impressive record in youth football after ending the 2021-22 season as the top scorer in Arsenal's Under-18s side with 18 goals in 20 appearances.

He'll join a Leyton Orient side pushing for a play-off position in League One - the O's currently sit 10th in the table.

Richie Wellens' side have struggled when it comes to scoring with just 30 goals scored in their 28 league matches this campaign.
