Brentford are readying a bid for red-hot Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy amid fears they will lose Ivan Toney to Tottenham or one of his other suitors in January, sources have told Football Insider.

Guirassy, 27, will be among the priority targets for many Premier League clubs if his scintillating form continues in the Bundesliga.

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have also been widely linked with potential January swoops for the Guinea international, while Brentford are plotting the first formal move.

It is believed Fulham could also pursue a move for the in-form striker as they look for a long-term replacement for Aleksandar Mitrović.

Guirassy has hit 13 goals in the first seven Bundesliga games of the season, five more in the competition than ex-Tottenham star Harry Kane for new club Bayern Munich.

His 'better than Kane' record is remarkable given he only joined Stuttgart permanently this summer after a successful loan spell at the German outfit last season.

The 27-year-old signed a contract running until June 2026.

Meanwhile, Toney is a top target for elite Premier League sides - including Tottenham.

He continues to be banned from playing competitive football until 17 January after a breach of the FA's gambling rules.

The England international managed 21 goals and five assists in 35 games across all competitions last season – including a best-ever return of 20 strikes in the Premier League.
