Celtic have made it a top priority to sign two more forwards before the close of the transfer window, Football Insider understands.

The Scottish giants have already completed three January senior signings and are also close to converting winger Jota’s loan into a permanent deal.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Celtic are now actively scouring the market to bring in a new wide forward in addition to Jota, 22.

It could mean three attacking players in total signing for Celtic this month.

The Scottish giants have already landed one forward in Daizen Maeda as well as his fellow Japanese stars Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate.

But manager Ange Postecoglu wants to further supplement his attacking options in the second half of the season as his side look to wrestle the title from Rangers.

The Hoops signed Jota on a season-long loan deal from Benfica in the summer and he has quickly become a fans favourite at Parkhead.

The Portugal Under-21 international has contributed eight goals and six assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.

Fellow summer signings Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada have also excelled in Ange Postecoglou's attack this season.

The Hoops are currently six points behind their Glasgow rivals in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.

Next month's Old Firm derby is likely to have a major bearing on the season's outcome.

Celtic hope to have another wide-forward in their ranks by then.
