Liverpool have told Divock Origi they will let him go on a summer free, Football Insider understands.

The Belgium international, 26, has three offers on the table as he looks to agree a pre-contract in the coming weeks.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that the club expect Origi to now go for nothing with no talks being held over an extension.

He is wanted by three clubs on the Continent and has been most strongly linked with AC Milan.

Origi signed a contract in 2019 that runs to the summer of 2022, but would be automatically extended by 12 months if he makes a set number of league starts this term.

He has not made a single Premier League start and has slipped further down the pecking order following the January arrival of Luis Diaz.

His last appearance came in the 2-1 win over Norwich City in the FA Cup earlier this month (2 March) and he has only featured in the Premier League twice since Christmas last year (2021).

Amongst Liverpool fans, he has cemented his reputation as a cult hero with a number of late goals.

Most famously he scored the second goal in their 2-0 win over Tottenham in the 2019 Champions League final.

He will end his Anfield career with at least 40 goals in over 170 appearances across all competitions.

As well as the Champions League, he has also won all three domestic trophies, Super Cup and Club World Cup with the Reds.
