Everton are expecting to announce a new contract has been agreed with Dominic Calvert-Lewin this month, Football Insider can reveal.

The Merseysiders are working to tie the striker, 22, to improved and extended terms after his outstanding form alerted many of Europe's elite teams.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that the club are increasingly hopeful Calvert-Lewin will put pen to paper on a blockbuster new deal within weeks that will be worth nearly £100,000-a-week.

Talks are at an advanced stage and there are is confidence a contract can soon be signed.

The former Sheffield United striker has taken his game to a new level in recent months and has catapulted into contention for England's Euro 2020 squad.

The England Under-21 international has scored 15 goals from 31 appearances in all competitions this season, including 13 strikes from 26 Premier League games.

Calvert-Lewin has netted 10 times in the league since 7 December, with all of his goals proving crucial to the match outcome.

His latest effort - his fifth goal in six league games - came in last Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Calvert-Lewin has more than three years remaining on his current deal, which expires in the summer of 2023.

He was signed by Everton – for just £1.5 million – when he was 19, in the summer of 2016.
