Yasser Larouci is in talks to join a new club after snubbing an improved long-term Liverpool deal.

The Merseysiders have been told by the left-back's representatives he will not sign an extension to his current deal, which expires next year.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that the club do not expect Larouci to stay beyond this window as he is already negotiating with other teams.

Leeds United, Brentford and Norwich City are all in the race to land the 19-year-old after being impressed by his performances when fast-tracked into the first team at Anfield this season.

Liverpool are in the market for a new left-back and have had a bid rejected for Norwich City's Jamal Lewis.

Larouci, who was born in Algeria, joined Liverpool from French club Le Havre in 2017 as a winger, before switching to left-back.

He went on the team's tour of the United States last summer and made his first-team debut in the FA Cup third-round victory over Everton in January.

He started the fourth-round match at Shrewsbury later that month but has not played for the Reds since.

Liverpool do not want to pay more than £10million for Lewis, while Norwich value him at considerably more than that.

But plenty of work is going on behind the scenes over the potential transfer, as the player's camp try to secure him a dream move to Anfield.
