Liverpool are among the sides monitoring the situation of Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Frimpong is also wanted by Man United and Arsenal following his impressive performances for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Xabi Alonso’s side are aware of the growing interest in the Netherlands international ahead of a possible switch at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

The Netherlands international will reportedly be available later this year via a release clause worth around £35million.

Former Celtic and Man City star Frimpong, who is under contract in Germany until June 2028, has played exclusively on the right flank of a 3-4-3 formation in the 2023-24 campaign.

He has managed seven goals and 10 assists across 22 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The right-footer joined Leverkusen in January 2021 and has gone on to notch 18 goals and 30 assists in 117 games for the club.

Liverpool are weighing up a move for a new right-back as they consider moving Trent Alexander-Arnold into a more permanent midfield role.

Joe Gomez, who is an orthodox centre-back, has been the back-up for Alexander-Arnold in recent seasons.

Arsenal and Man United are also keen on the 23-year-old and could join the race for his signature in the summer window when Financial Fair Play worries are alleviated.
