Manchester United will sell one of their current goalkeepers in the next few days, sources have told Football Insider.

Senne Lammens is expected to join Man United from Royal Antwerp in the coming days, which would leave Ruben Amorim with four senior shot-stoppers.

Both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir are at risk, with Tom Heaton likely to stay at Old Trafford as the third-choice option.

Sources say that Lammens is coming in as a long-term project for the Red Devils, to provide competition and back up for the number one keeper.

Man United struggle to offload Andre Onana

Since his move to Manchester from Inter Milan back in the summer of 2023, Onana has failed to consistently perform at the level required.

The Cameroon international has made a number of high-profile mistakes during his two years at Old Trafford, which has led to rumours of a potential departure this summer.

However, so far in the transfer window Man United have struggled to offload Onana, and with the deadline approaching quickly, they may be forced to keep the 29-year-old.

If that is the case, Amorim may consider selling Bayindir instead, rather than continuing until January with four keepers in the squad.

‘Man United miss out on Premier League star‘

Meanwhile, Man United are reportedly set to miss out on a deal to sign long-term target Martinez from Aston Villa.

That is according to their former chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Amorim’s side have cooled their interest in the 32-year-old.

As a result, he is growing increasingly likely to stay at Villa Park beyond the end of the transfer window and remains part of Unai Emery’s plans.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa, and West Ham, insisted United have made a “huge mistake” by not pushing for a deal.
