Sources: Portsmouth rejected Lincoln City bid for Reeco Hackett-Fairchild
Portsmouth rejected a bid from League One rivals Lincoln City for Reeco Hackett-Fairchild on deadline day, sources have told Football Insider.
Lincoln submitted a late offer for the 25-year-old star as they attempted to recruit a proven winger to their squad.
Portsmouth turned down the offer for Hackett-Fairchild as new Pompey boss John Mousinho wanted to keep hold of him for the remainder of the season.
Hackett-Fairchild has been crucial to Portsmouth already this season, only missing four League One games this season.
He has primarily been used as an impact substitute this season but has also completed three full-90 minute matches in League One.
Across all competitions he's made 33 appearances for Portsmouth in 2022/23, chipping in with four goals and one assist.
He's on track to better his record from the 2021/22 season, which saw him score five and assist three in 34 total appearances.
Before joining Portsmouth in 2020, Hackett-Fairchild enjoyed permanent stints with Charlton Athletic and Bromley.
He spent three seasons in Charlton but failed to nail down a starting spot with just 12 league appearances made during his time at the club.
After a brief loan spell at Bromley in 2019 the National League side decided to sign Hacket-Fairchild permanently and he scored eight times from the wing during the 2019/20 season.
His performances caught the eye of Portsmouth who swooped to sign him in 2020, and he was initially sent back to Bromley for what was his third spell at the club.
