Swansea defender Kristian Pedersen is set for a move to Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday, sources have told Football Insider.

The two clubs have agreed a deal which will see the 29-year-old join the Owls on loan for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

The Sheffield club have enjoyed a busy end to the winter transfer window with Pedersen set to become their second deadline-day signing.

Wednesday boss Danny Rohl was desperate to strengthen his squad ahead of the second half of the season with the Owls currently sat 23rd in the Championship table.

They have struggled defensively with 46 goals conceded in 29 league games this season.

The deal will provide Pedersen with the opportunity for more regular first-team football having struggled to settle in at Swansea following his move in the summer.

The Danish defender has made just five appearances across all competitions in 2023-24 with his last league appearance coming back in October.

He joined the Swans in the summer from German side FC Koln but previously spent four years at Championship side Birmingham City.

While with the Blues he made 161 appearances and scored nine times.
