Victor Wanyama has agreed to join Club Brugge from Tottenham in a transfer set to be finalised in the next 48 hours, Football Insider can reveal.

The central midfielder, 28, has agreed a four-year contract worth around £50,000-a-week with the Belgian outfit after Spurs accepted a bid of an initial £9million rising to a potential £12million with add-ons.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that Wanyama is heading to Belgium to complete the move today as he prepares to quit the Londoners three years after signing from Southampton for £11million.

Wanyama is taking a pay cut to move to Belgium even though he has two years remaining on his contract with the Champions League runners-up.

But the Kenya international is eager to get his career back on track after two-injury ravaged seasons have seen him drop down the Tottenham midfield pecking order.

Mauricio Pochettino made clear at his press conference on Friday the player's standards have dropped compared to his first season at the club, and he was omitted from the matchday squad for yesterday's shock 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United.

The Kenyan is below Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Eric Dier in the midfield pecking order as well as teenager Oliver Skipp.

He is set to link up with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet at Brugge after he joined from Liverpool for £6.4million earlier this month.
