Sources: Tottenham make up minds on signing Clark after offer
Tottenham have rejected the chance to sign Newcastle United wonderkid Bobby Clark, Football Insider understands.
This site revealed on 8 May that Spurs had been offered the 16-year-old midfielder by intermediaries ahead of the summer.
A Spurs source has told Football Insider that academy coach Paul Bracewell has run the rule over Clark but has advised they do not make a move to sign him.
North-east based Bracewell watched the son of Lee Clark in action in recent weeks before coming to the conclusion.
Bobby Clark has already been in the media spotlight after breaking numerous records at St. James’ Park.
He became the youngest-ever player to represent Newcastle's Under-18s at the age of 14 years and 206 days when he made his debut as a substitute in August 2019.
However, since making waves in the Under-18s his progress has seemingly stalled over the last 12 months.
The teenager has struggled for game time this season after being handed a scholarship deal by Newcastle.
Clark has represented England at Under-16 level and has long been rated one of the best prospects in his age group.
His father is a legend on Tyneside, having played more than 150 matches for the Toon after graduating from the club's youth ranks.
Speaking on his son's development last year, Lee Clark said: "He’s getting coached very well at Newcastle’s academy.
"Everyone who is there and the various different teams he plays in are terrific."
