Arsenal are not planning to join Tottenham in the chase for unsettled Brighton star Leandro Trossard, sources have told Football Insider.

The Belgium forward's future at Brighton is up in the air after a bust-up with Roberto De Zerbi.

Football Insider broke the news last week (9 January) that Tottenham have had a verbal offer for Trossard rejected.

Arsenal have been linked with a possible move for Trossard, 28, after missing out to Chelsea for Ukraine sensation Mykhailo Mudryk.

However, sources have told Football Insider that the Gunners would only consider a move for the Brighton star if they cannot get their alternative targets like Raphinha.

Trossard has scored an impressive seven goals and registered a further three assists in just 16 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls this season.

He is currently enjoying his fourth season at the Amex stadium following his move to the south coast in 2019 from Belgian side Genk.

Trossard is just one goal off matching his most productive Premier League season with Brighton after he scored eight goals in 34 appearances last season.

However, his record is under threat after he fell out of favour with De Zerbi.

Brighton

Trossard was absent for victories over Liverpool and Everton after frustrating the Italian with his attitude.

After De Zerbi revealed that Trossard would be left out of Brighton's Premier League clash with Liverpool, the player's agent released a statement that he was "humiliated" by the Seagulls manager.
