Sources: West Ham make 'concrete' move for Traore as they look to beat Tottenham to deal
West Ham have made a "concrete" move to sign Wolves star man Adama Traore, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Hammers are interested in the Spain international, 25, as they look to strengthen their attacking options this month.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that the club have registered their interest in Traore as they look to provide competition for London rivals Tottenham.
The asking price has now tumbled and it is believed that around £18m could be enough to seal a deal.
But Spurs are also pursuing a deal this month for the super-quick Spaniard despite his less than impressive statistics.
David Moyes is keen to provide cover and competition for Michail Antonio.
Intriguingly, the Irons boss believes Traore is capable of spearheading the attack in a new centre-forward role as well as operating on the flank.
Moyes has transformed the career of Antonio after handing him the striker role during his second spell as manager of the London club.
Traore has seen his price tag fall after struggling to hit the heights of his 2019-20 season at Wolves.
He has failed to score or assist in 21 matches this term, and has lost his regular starting role.
Football Insider revealed in March of last year that Wolves were willing to listen to offers for Traore as they look to trim costs.
Traore first moved to England in January 2015, when he joined Aston Villa from Barcelona before heading to Middlesbrough 18 months later.
He joined Wolves in the summer of 2018 for a then-club record £18m when they triggered his Boro release clause.
