West Ham have made an enquiry for PSV Eindhoven star Ibrahim Sangaresources have told Football Insider.

Nottingham Forest have been leading the chase for the midfield anchorman, who has a £32million release clause in his contract.

That has opened the door for West Ham to make a move, and they have been in contact with the Dutch club about a potential deal.

PSV have a replacement lined up for Sangare in case they lose him in the final week of the window.

PSV's willingness to sell could depend on their Champions League qualification, which will be settled on 30 August following their 2-2 draw with Rangers at Ibrox on Tuesday evening.

After losing captain Declan Rice to Arsenal in a £105million move earlier this summer, David Moyes has already reinforced his midfield with the signings of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.

However, the Hammers seem to be working on some late transfer business ahead of the September 1 deadline.

The London club are close to reaching a full agreement for Ajax winger Mohammed Kudus but could return to the Eredivisie to make it a double swoop with Sangare.

The Ivory Coast international has started the 2023/24 campaign in superb form, scoring twice in six appearances this season - including PSV's opener against Rangers.

Sangare was a crucial part of PSV's side last season, making 45 appearances across all competitions and scoring eight goals in the process.
