West Ham have pulled out of the race to sign Adama Traore as they have been told he is “signing for Tottenham”, Football Insider understands.

The east Londoners had registered their interest in a deal for the Wolves star this month.

But a West Ham source has told Football Insider that the club’s recruitment team have turned their attention to alternative targets.

Tottenham

They have been told that Traore is close to “signing for Tottenham” with the deal expected to go through next week.

Football Insider broke the news on Friday afternoon that Spurs and Wolves have agreed a fee of £20million plus £2.75m of add-ons for Traore.

The explosive wide man has 18 months left on his contract at Molineux and rejected Wolves' efforts to extend it.

As such, the Midlands outfit have given the Spain international the green light to leave.

His potential availability drew interest across the Premier League, with West Ham among his suitors.

However, the Irons have been informed Traore is now Spurs-bound.

As such, David Moyes' men have moved onto different targets ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Hammers are yet to bring any new faces through the door at the London Stadium this month.

However, Moyes has confirmed he is in the market for a new centre-forward among other targets.

Meanwhile, Traore is set to become the first signing under Antonio Conte at Spurs.

The Italian manager views the Wolves star as someone he could mould into a wing-back in north London.
