West Ham will line up a summer deal for Flamengo striker Pedro if they secure Premier League survival, sources have told Football Insider.

The 25-year-old has been brought to the attention of top-flight clubs in England after scoring 14 goals in the first 15 games of the season in Brazil.

West Ham have done recent business in Brazil, signing young centre-back Luizao on a free transfer in January.

They will now keep tabs on Pedro as they look to improve a faltering attack in time for the 2023-24 campaign.

Pedro turned out twice for Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar last year (2022) and has amassed four caps in total, scoring once.

The forward has notched 101 goals in Brazillian football but struggled in a brief spell at Serie A side Fiorentina between 2019 and 2021.

His return of 29 goals and 10 assists in 59 games in the 2022 season was the best of his career since making a first-team debut for Fluminense in 2016.

Meanwhile, West Ham are struggling for goals despite launching a mega-money reported £170million spending spree in the 2022-23 season.

The likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Danny Ings and Maxwel Cornet have arrived for big fees but have combined for just eight goals this term.

The Irons remain in a fight against relegation to the Championship despite vital recent wins over Southampton and Fulham.

West Ham

David Moyes' side are 14th in the table – three points above the drop zone with eight games to play this term.

They face Gent in a Europa Conference League quarter-final first leg on Thursday (13 April), before hosting league leaders Arsenal on Sunday (16 April).
