West Ham are set to intensify contract talks with Tomas Soucek amid reported interest from Inter Milan, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the Irons are keen to find an agreement as the 28-year-old is a firm fan favourite and still seen as an important player by David Moyes.

He is currently out of contract at West Ham at the end of the 2023-24 campaign – although the London club have the option to extend his stay a further 12 months.

It is believed the Czech Republic international wants a better deal and will ask to be brought in line with the club's other top earners.

The Irons have recently agreed a new long-term deal with Jarrod Bowen and will now turn their attention to renewing Soucek's contract.

He has been linked with Italian giants Inter Milan in recent days, putting West Ham in jeopardy.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that West Ham will have a decision to make in January if no progress can be made in discussions.

They could choose to cash in on Soucek if suitable offers arrive for his services, rather than let him run down his contract and leave for free.

But he continues to be a key player for Moyes' side and has already made 10 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign, notching four goals and one assist.

The combative midfielder, who cost the Irons a reported total fee of £19million in 2020, has notched 26 goals and nine assists during his time at the London Stadium.
