West Ham's deal to sign Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto has collapsed, sources have told Football Insider.

The London club agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old on Monday and were all set to finalise the deal and announce a marquee signing.

But West Ham have now walked away from a deal after failing to agree on a price with the Brazilian club.

West Ham

Irons director of football Tim Steidten has been in Brazil this week trying to get a deal over the line.

It means West Ham will now be forced to turn to alternative targets as they try to bring in the striker that David Moyes wants to reinforce his attack ahead of Friday's 11pm deadline.

Michail Antonio has led the line for the Hammers so far this season and has started the Premier League campaign with two goals in three games, but Moyes is eager to add more firepower to his squad.

Gianluca Scamacca was sold by the London club after failing to nail down a starting spot at the London Stadium, and his departure has left West Ham's striker department thin.

Alberto has scored 10 goals and assisted seven times in the 2022/23 season across all competitions.

He only signed for Corinthians on a permanent basis in January after initially joining the club on a loan deal in June 2022.

Alberto penned a five-year contract with the Brazilian club.

His fine form in the league earned him his first call-up to the Brazil national team in March 2023.
