Wolves are bracing for offers for star man Hwang Hee-chan this year despite alleviating their Financial Fair Play worries with a fire sale last summer (2023), sources have told Football Insider.

The ship has been steadied at Molineux with the club's finances cleared by the Premier League - but the Midlands club remain susceptible to big-money bids for their top players.

It is believed a January move for the forward is all but off the table - but Wolves fear he could depart later this year.

The 27-year-old, who is currently away with South Korea at the Asian Cup, has managed 11 goals and three assists in 21 club appearances this term.

Hwang signed a contract extension last month to keep him at Molineux until June 2028 - which will boost the player's value if Liverpool, Tottenham or another top side firm up their interest in his signature.

The forward is the top scorer for Gary O'Neil's side this term, with Matheus Cunha sitting second in the charts with seven strikes.

Hwang joined Wolves on an initial loan from RB Leipzig in 2021 before joining permanently in the following year.

Wolves

Wolves have outperformed expectations after losing the likes of Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins and Matheus Nunes last summer.

O'Neil's side sit 11th in the table and have streaked some 12 points clear of the relegation zone with 18 games left to play this term.
