Everton have a decision to make over signing Jack Grealish on a permanent deal once his loan move comes to an end.

The deal includes the option for David Moyes’s side to buy the 30-year-old, who is believed to be on around £300,000 a week, for £50million next summer.

It is understood Everton are paying £225,000 a week of Grealish’s wages during his time on Merseyside.

Grealish won the Premier League Player of the Month award for August after enjoying a strong start to the season, but his form has been slightly inconsistent in recent months.

How Everton feel about triggering Jack Grealish clause revealed

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider there isn’t any possibility Everton would pay Grealish’s option-to-buy clause.

The England international's contract expires at the Etihad Stadium in June 2027.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I don't think they'll see any rush to do it, to be honest.

“They've got their option. The option is meaningless. I think the option is more about optics than anything else.

“I don't think there's any possibility whatsoever that they'll buy the player for £50m. So, it's really a case of seeing how he performs in the second half of the season and then deciding where they want to bid.”

Why Man City could accept £20m Grealish offer revealed

Everton are keen to sign Grealish permanently, but they are only interested in securing a deal at a reduced price.

“I can't see that there'll be a huge bidding war for the player,” said Borson.

“I think he's happy at Everton. I think Everton should be able to get him for about £20m max.

“I think if City can get themselves out of the deal in the final year for what his amortised value is, which is probably about £20m by the time you get to the summer, I think City will take that, or even a small loss and get him off the wage bill.

“He can get on with his career at Everton and that's that. I don't see that there's any realistic prospects of him going back to City, and I don't think that it's likely that he's going to go anywhere else, so that just seems to make sense.”

Grealish has registered two goals and four assists in 18 appearances for Everton this season.
