Tottenham youngster Callum Olusesi has agreed to sign a professional contract at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The 16-year-old is highly regarded by the Lilywhites following his impressive performances in the FA Youth Cup and his outings for the under-18s this season.

The midfielder went full-time with Tottenham on a scholarship agreement in July last year but is set to pen his first professional contract soon after he turns 17 on Monday.

Across 18 appearances in all competitions this season, he has bagged eight goals and four assists.

Callum Olusesi will pen Spurs deal in next days after agreement

Olusesi has been a mainstay for Spurs in the under-18s Premier League this season having made 14 appearances, including bagging a goal and assist in just 31 minutes of action against Southampton last month.

The 2007-born star has been fielded across a variety of positions since last season including centre-forward, attacking midfield and defensive midfield, but he predominantly plays as a central midfielder.

He has achieved international recognition with England having made seven appearances and scoring twice for the under-17s.

Olusesi was a standout in Spurs' FA Youth Cup run this season having scored in the third and fifth round before their elimination in the quarter-finals against Man City last month.

Tottenham are also working on securing a new contract for senior star Heung-Min Son, with sources telling Football Insider (8 March) that they have opened talks with their captain and are confident he will pen a deal.
