Ange Postecoglou is keen to add another centre-back to his Tottenham squad in January, sources have told Football Insider.

Cristian Romero and summer signing Micky van de Ven have built a formidable partnership at the heart of the Spurs defence, but Postecoglou is ready to add further reinforcements.

It is believed Tottenham wanted to sign an additional centre-back in the main window, but the right opportunity didn't arise before the 1 September deadline.

The Lilywhites could go back in for Adarabioyo in January when the centre-back will have just six months left on his contract at Fulham.

Tapsoba is seen as a more premium option by club chiefs and could come with a much heftier price tag, especially in the mid-season window.

Eric Dier could be allowed to leave the club in January in order to free up space and wages for a new arrival.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (30 September) that Dier is likely to seriously consider a potential reunion with Jose Mourinho at Roma.

The Italian giants have been linked with the England international in recent days.

Dier is yet to play a minute for Spurs under Postecoglou.

Tottenham also have Ashley Phillips and Ben Davies to call on in the centre-back area.

Postecoglou's side, who face Liverpool on Saturday (30 September) have picked up 14 points from a possible 18 so far this season.
