Tottenham Hotspur will earn £1.5 million from Manchester City's title win, according to a report.

The Times claim Spurs are in line to receive the windfall due to a clause they inserted into Kyle Walker’s £54 million transfer to City last summer.

Tottenham are guaranteed the payment after Pep Guardiola's side were crowned Premier League champions on Sunday evening in the wake of Manchester United's defeat to West Brom.

Walker, 27, has been a key player for City this season after ending his eight-year spell at Spurs to move to the Etihad Stadium.

The right-back has made 46 appearances in all competitions and started 30 of their 33 Premier League fixtures.

Football Insider verdict:

Even Spurs fans still seething at Walker's exit to a top-four rival will recognise that he has had a fine campaign for the champions. He has been a massive upgrade on 2016-17 right-backs Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna, both of whom lacked the pace and legs to motor up and down the flank like Walker has. The Sheffield United academy graduate was certainly not cheap, and Spurs might still claim they got the best of a deal that has now been supplemented by £1.5million. But Walker is a Premier League winner for the first time, which has fully justified his move.
