Paul Robinson is adamant Tottenham will get the signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Pedro Porro over the line before the 11pm transfer deadline.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said Spurs are taking the deal to the last minute to get the best price possible.

Tottenham's move to sign Porro from Sporting Lisbon stalled on Monday.

However, as revealed by journalist Fabrizio Romano on Monday night (30 January), the two clubs have now come to a full agreement on a deal worth £40million.

Spurs are said to have re-scheduled medical tests for the wing-back.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the latest developments, Robinson said: "This deal will get done.

"Sporting Lisbon had a big game at the weekend and they did not want to let him go before that.

"The fee will not be a stumbling block. I think they are just taking it to the last minute to get the best deal possible. Spurs have done this before.

Tottenham

"Sporting Lisbon are making it difficult but with the window closing tomorrow they will be in constant talks. We will see this deal get done by 11pm.

"Pedro Porro is clearly the player Spurs wanted to get in this month. The deal is so close. The player wants to join and I'm sure he will be a Spurs player come the end of the window."
