West Ham have bid for Dawson rejected - report
West Ham have had a £12million bid for defender Craig Dawson rejected by West Bromwich Albion, according to a report.
The Telegraph report that the Hammers' opening offer for the 28-year-old right-back had been denied as WBA rate Dawson as being worth in the region of £20million.
The newspaper claim that there are a number of Premier League clubs eyeing a move for Dawson and that the Hammers are currently considering whether to make an improved bid for him.

Dawson arriving at the London Stadium this summer wouldn't exactly have fans leaping out of their seat to welcome him. The 28-year-old defender is hardly an exciting signing and based on the Hammers' recent transfer business, you would think the London club would be aiming higher than him. However Dawson is a player that if recruited would provide fantastic cover for the Hammers' defence. Aside from playing right-back Dawson can feature as a centre-back and could help Manuel Pellegrini's side cope if there was an injury crisis amongst its defenders. If the Hammers could get the 28-year-old for a fee under £15million then it could prove to be smart business for this reason. The only issue is that with several Premier League teams interested and WBA rating him as being worth £20million, they will be unlikely to get him for that price. Therefore hopefully after seeing their £12million bid rejected, the Hammers look elsewhere in order to bolster their defensive numbers.
