West Ham have signed Valencia winger Sofiane Feghouli on a free transfer, according to a club insider.

Jack Sullivan, the son of Hammers co-owner David Sullivan, claimed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon that Feghouli has signed a three-year contract with the Londoners.

This comes a week after Sullivan had said a transfer for an unnamed '"international winger" could be "in about 12 days" if everything went to plan.

Sullivan has a reputation as a reliable source of West Ham news and often provides transfer information ahead of traditional media.

Sofiane is a player of impressive pedigree, who has not only earned 40 international caps but also made 202 appearances for Spanish big hitters Valencia.

The 26-year-old has scored 33 goals and supplied 40 assists for Valencia, predominantly from his right flank position.

He was especially productive in the 2014-15 season when he scored six goals and weighed in with eights assists from his 33 La Liga matches.

West Ham's apparent clinching of the Feghouli deal will be regarded as a blow to Tottenham, who have been credited by French publication L'Equipe with an interest in the player.

West Ham chiefs have made it publicly clear on a number of occasions in recent weeks that the club intend to reinforce their squad with at least six senior signings this summer as they aim to give Slaven Bilic an even stronger squad next season.
