West Ham are keeping close tabs on Eberechi Eze and are readying their own offer after Crystal Palace had a bid knocked back by QPR, Football Insider understands.

The 22-year-old is a wanted man following a stellar campaign at Loftus Road and is likely to move on this summer.

Palace have had a bid worth £12million plus add-ons rejected by QPR but a recruitment source told Football Insider they are set to return with an improved offer.

It is believed £16million will be enough to seal the deal.

West Ham remain in the running for Eze and Palace's bid is likely to prompt manager David Moyes to make a formal move.

Hammers chiefs have set their sights on landing one of QPR star Eze or Brentford ace Benrahma.

Eze has dazzled for a mid-table Championship team, scoring 14 goals and providing eight assists from QPR's 46 league matches.

He is not only a matchwinner but Moyes has also been impressed by his durability and consistency.

He considers those critical factors given the poor availability of the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko in recent seasons.

Palace made an enquiry for Eze late in the January window after West Ham hijacked their pursuit of Jarrod Bowen and agreed a deal that was eventually completed at the eleventh hour on deadline day.

His contract at Loftus Road expires in the summer of 2021, making Rangers vulnerable to Premier League offers.
