Wes Foderingham has agreed personal terms with West Ham ahead of a summer transfer move, sources have told Football Insider.

Foderingham, 33, will not sign a contract extension with Sheffield United and will instead join the Hammers on 1 July after his current deal expires.

The goalkeeper has accepted the offer of a contract from West Ham ahead of a free transfer move to the London Stadium.

Having spent four years at Sheffield United since joining in 2020, Foderingham will now take the next step in his career away from Bramall Lane.

West Ham agree terms to sign Wes Foderingham

Foderingham featured 31 times for the Blades in the just-finished season as they found themselves marooned at the bottom of the table, with the goalkeeper shipping 79 goals.

He kept just one Premier League clean sheet, with another coming in the FA Cup, as Sheffield United managed just three league wins all season, conceding a total of 106 goals.

With the goalkeeper's deal set to expire, he is not set to remain in the Premier League with West Ham rather than dropping to the Championship with the Blades.

Alphonse Areola stamped his mark as the first-choice shot-stopper at the London Stadium as he played 33 games, conceding 60 goals and keeping just four Premier League clean sheets.

Lukasz Fabianski, meanwhile, featured prominently as a back-up with 23 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets and conceding 30 goals.

Foderingham joined the Blades from Rangers on a free transfer in 2020 and will now leave on the same term.
