West Ham will sell one of Nathan Trott or Krisztian Hegyi this summer after agreeing terms with Wes Foderingham, sources have told Football Insider

The 33-year-old will not sign a contract extension with Sheffield United and will formally make the switch to West Ham on 1 July after his current deal expires.

Sources say the shake-up within the Hammers' goalkeeping department is well underway following the arrival of new manager Julen Lopetegui.

The deal for Foderingham means either Trott, 25 or Hegyi, 21 will be offloaded once the transfer window reopens to create room in the squad.

Trott is under contract until June 2026, while Hegyi's deal is due to expire in June 2025.

Having spent four years at Sheffield United since joining in 2020, Foderingham will now take the next step in his career away from Bramall Lane.

The goalkeeper featured 31 times for the Blades across the most recent campaign as his side finished bottom of the Premier League table, having conceded 104 goals.

The Hammersmith-born stopper will add to West Ham’s homegrown quota and look to provide competition for Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski next season.

But the goalkeeper’s arrival means one of Trott or Hegyi are likely to move on this summer as Lopetegui looks to shape his squad after being announced as David Moyes’s replacement.

Former England youth international Trott has made one appearance for the Hammers’ senior side, while Bulgarian stopper Hegyi has only featured for the club’s youth teams.
