Wolves make emphatic decision on Championship rivals bid for 25-year-old - report

Wolves have emphatically decided to reject a bid from Championship rivals Hull for striker Nouha Dicko, according to a report.

The Express and Star claims the the Tigers tabled a £3million bid for Dicko, 25, after their star striker Abel Hernandez was struck down with a serious Achilles injury which will keep him on the sidelines for the next six months.

Dicko scored a decisive goal in Wolves' 3-2 win at Hull earlier this month, and although he has featured in every single match this season, it is understood that manager Nuno Espirito Santo would consider the sale of the ex-Wigan forward.

The report adds that Nuno is in the belief that Dicko doesn't possess the attributes necessary to be a part of his squad on a long-term basis, even though he has earned six appearances across all competitions this season and scored two goals in the process - the same amount as starting striker Leo Bonatini.

The Express and Star claims that Wolves are still in the market for another striker, even if Dicko doesn't leave this summer.

Wolves' squad has undergone a massive facelift this summer and it's barely recognisable to the team that Paul Lambert used to avoid relegation last season. They could secure promotion to the Premier League this term, but they should still try to keep hold of Dicko for now. The two-times Mali international is one of the most reliable sources of goals that Wolves have had in several years and it's worth giving him a chance to continue impressing off the bench. He already has as many goals as summer signing Bonatini, meaning that even if he doesn't fit Nuno's style, he is still finding the net to score important goals. Hull are desperate for a striker so it wouldn't be a surprise if they came in with another bid.
