Wrexham are surely ready for the Premier League after record-breaking bid submitted
Wrexham are in with a shout of earning promotion to the Premier League following their strong performances this season.
Phil Parkinson’s side have failed to win their past two Championship games, but four straight league wins prior to that has seen them rise up to ninth in the table.
Wrexham are majority owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac (formerly McElhenney), who have helped the club achieve three successive promotions from the National League to the second tier.
Reynolds and Mac purchased the Red Dragons in February 2021, with the deal seeing the duo invest £2million at the Stok Cae Ras, also known as the Racecourse Ground.
Now, the Hollywood stars are looking to help Wrexham secure promotion to the Premier League.

Their rise through the EFL has seen Wrexham recently valued at up to £350m as they continue to attract interest from investors.
In a recent ownership update, it was confirmed last month Apollo Sports Capital has purchased a minority stake in Wrexham.
Apollo, which has more than £675billion worth of assets under management, became the majority owners of La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in November.
The New York-headquartered firm’s investment in Wrexham arrived just weeks before the January transfer window opened, providing the club with extra firepower this month.
Football Insider revealed on Thursday (22 February) Wrexham have submitted a £19m bid to sign Sidiki Cherif from French side Angers.
The offer for the 19-year-old striker, who has also attracted interest from Crystal Palace, would break the Championship transfer record if it were to go through.
Ipswich Town set a new second-tier record after signing Sindre Walle Egeli for £17.5m from FC Nordsjaelland last summer.
How Wrexham can afford to make record Championship bid
Alongside Reynolds, Mac and Apollo, another wealthy investor makes up Wrexham’s ownership.
The Allyn family, which has a net worth of more than £1.5bn, bought a minority stake at the Racecourse in October 2024.
Meanwhile, Reynolds and Mac are understood to have a combined net worth of around £300m, ensuring the Red Dragons have access to more money than some Premier League clubs.
Wrexham are expanding the Racecourse’s capacity to more than 18,000 as they look to boost their revenue, which stood at £26.7m in their latest published accounts for 2023-24 – their first year back in the EFL.
That figure will have increased significantly over the past 18 months following their meteoric rise to the Championship.
With the record-breaking bid for Cherif and the undoubted financial power of their investors, Wrexham are starting to look like a club that could hold their own in the Premier League.
Parkinson is now preparing his side to face QPR on Saturday (24 January) as they aim to close the two-point gap to sixth-place Preston North End.
