Gabriel Agbonlahor has tipped Leeds United forward Rodrigo Moreno to return to the starting XI against Arsenal on Sunday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former Aston Villa and England striker claimed the Spain international has been “outstanding” this season.
As reported by LeedsLive, Rodrigo posted a short video on Instagram at Leeds’ Thorp Arch training ground with the caption “work”.
The 29-year-old has returned to training following a period of self isolation after coming into close contact with somebody who tested positive for coronavirus.
He missed the Whites’ 4-1 losses to Leicester City and Crystal Palace and Spain’s internationals with Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.
Leeds’ record signing is now back in training with plenty of time to spare before the visit of the Gunners on Sunday.
Asked by Football Insider whether Rodrigo should immediately return to Marcelo Bielsa’s starting XI, Agbonlahor said: “Rodrigo has been important. I watched him against Aston Villa and he was outstanding.
“He worked hard off the ball, he dropped in and marked the opposition defensive midfielder and stays on him. When Leeds get the ball he goes and makes two up front and he’s been outstanding.
“I feel like Rodrigo for sure starts before Hernandez and if he’s back then it’s going to be trouble for Arsenal.”
Rodrigo had featured in every Leeds game this season before entering self isolation at the beginning of November.
However, he has only completed a full Premier League game once for his new club.
