Tuanzebe has 'no future' at Man United after latest development - pundit

Axel Tuanzebe has “no future” at Manchester United after joining Napoli on loan, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old will not manage to break through into the first-team at Old Trafford.

Tuanzebe completed a move to Serie A giants Napoli on Saturday (8 January) after his Aston Villa loan spell was cut short by Man United.

The former England under-21 international’s contract with the Red Devils is set to expire in June 2023.

Campbell claimed the defender’s contract situation means an exit this summer is likely.

“The key to it is that he has to play first-team football,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“He’s got no future at the club. Let’s be honest. Let’s be brutally honest.

“He’s gone from one loan to another in Italy, he’s gone to get some game time. He gets game time, he does his business – that will take him to one year left at the club. He’s off, possibly even this summer.

“He’s not getting through at Man United. Look who they have at the back. It’s sad, but it’s a part of life.”

Tuanzebe played just eight minutes at Aston Villa following the appointment of Steven Gerrard in November.

The defender made his full Napoli debut in a 5-2 cup defeat against Fiorentina yesterday.

Tuanzebe managed just 19 appearances across all competitions at Man United last season, including four Premier League starts.

The 24-year-old has played just 28 times in England’s top flight.
