West Ham fans react on Twitter to Fletcher leading attack v Man City

By Joe Nelson

Ashley Fletcher has been selected to lead the West Ham attack at Manchester City – and fans believe it is well deserved.

The 20-year-old is joined up front by Enner Valencia, who has not been popular with the Hammers faithful recently and has been widely linked with a summer exit..

Fletcher joined West Ham on a free transfer from Manchester United in July and has since gone on to make three substitute appearances in total, one of which came in the Premier League.

The striker has been given his chance to shine on Sunday by Slaven Bilic, on a day when the Hammers have completed the signing of Simone Zaza from Juventus.

The youngster is behind fellow summer signing Jonathan Calleri as well as injured big-name duo Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew, although he is ahead of outcast Diafra Sakho.
