Liverpool fans react on Twitter to academy star's reported loan move

By Alex Taylor

Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom is preparing for a move to Red Bull Salzburg in a season-long loan deal, and fans have had a mixed reaction to the news.

BBC Sport claims that Wisdom, 23, will not have a reunion with former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers at Celtic as he instead prepares for a move to Austria.

Liverpool academy graduate Wisdom, who has three years remaining on his contract, is set to spend the 2016/17 campaign at Salzburg.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter to pass on their best wishes but others weren’t so sure about the move.

Wisdom spent last season at relegated Premier League side Norwich, but made just 14 appearances in all competitions.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Wisdom is one of six senior men that have been told they can leave the Merseyside club before Wednesday’s 11pm transfer deadline.

The Leeds-born defender has played 22 matches for Liverpool, after moving from Bradford City’s youth academy in 2008 at the age of just 14.

In other Liverpool transfer news, Danny Ings will remain at Liverpool this season, according to a reliable journalist.
