Stoke City ace Marko Arnautovic is set to undergo a medical at West Ham on Wednesday ahead of a potential summer move, according to a report.
The Sun claims the Hammers agreed a £24million transfer fee with the Potters for the 28-year-old attacker on Tuesday night.
It is said Arnautovic will agree personal terms with the east London club following the completion of his medical.
The report states the Hammers hope to announce the Austrian international’s arrival on Thursday, and then he will immediately join the club’s pre-season training camp in his homeland.
Meanwhile, it is said Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez, 29, is expected to travel to London to undergo a West Ham medical of his own by the end of the week.
The Sun claim West Ham have been after the former Manchester United front man for two weeks and talks were finally held on Tuesday night in which progress was made over a £13million switch.
It is reported that the Hammers are “increasingly confident” that the Mexican international will complete a move by the end of the week.
Football Insider verdict
Both Arnautovic and Hernandez mark major signings for the Hammers, and both players will improve their forward line significantly. The Austrian forward contributed to 13 goals for Stoke last season, while the Bayer Leverkusen netted 13 goals of his own. Hernandez and Arnautovic have both been capped by their respective countries more than 50 times, illustrating their quality. The Hammers were short of goals last term, but by signing these two they will take a big step to curing that issue.
In other West Ham news, one of the Hammers’ Premier League rivals is plotting a move for this first-team player.
