Tyler Dibling’s Everton future has never looked bleaker, David Moyes surely sealed his fate vs Man City

Tyler Dibling is surely on the brink of a summer departure from Everton after he was an unused substitute again in their 3-3 draw with Manchester City on Monday night.

The winger has found opportunities to impress extremely hard to come by since his £40million move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium last summer, and he has played just one minute of Premier League football since the end of January.

The 20-year-old has been a big topic of discussion among the Toffees faithful in recent months, with several sections of the fanbase crying out for him to be given more of a look-in.

However, David Moyes has continued to use the starlet sporadically during his debut season on Merseyside, which has left many fearing the worst for his long-term prospects.

Everton produced a positive performance against City on Monday night, but their draw likely had a huge negative impact on Dibling, who simply cannot catch a break at the moment.

Tyler Dibling wondering what he has done wrong at Everton

Moyes surprised everybody with his team selection as he shuffled the pack on Monday, with Merlin Rohl perhaps the most eye-catching inclusion in the makeshift starting XI.

The German has received limited minutes so far this term, but was handed the chance to start in an unusual right-wing role, despite the fact that he is a holding midfielder by trade.

The decision for Moyes to start him was a damning reflection on Dibling in itself, considering that he was snubbed in favour of a player who had never played on the wing for the Toffees before, especially in such a big game.

Dibling’s misery was then compounded by the fact that Rohl turned in an impressive, all-action display, which could potentially have convinced the manager that he could be used in that role more often.

That would undoubtedly be awful news for Dibling, who certainly doesn’t need another player to climb above him in the pecking order at the moment.

The fact that he wasn’t even used as an impact substitute against City will surely have left him wondering what he has done wrong to deserve this treatment, especially considering the team was missing several of its key faces.

His future at the Hill Dickinson has been in serious doubt for weeks now, but it has surely never been bleaker than this, as Monday night should be considered a new low from Dibling’s perspective.

Dibling expected to push for move this summer

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider back in February that Dibling could push to leave Everton this summer, such is the situation that he finds himself in at the moment.

Moyes hit out at the youngster for the way that he had approached the move earlier in the campaign, and Brown suggested that it was unlikely to have been taken well by Dibling.

He arrived on Merseyside as a long-term investment for Everton last summer, and a player who they worked extremely hard to capture ahead of several other clubs.

However, just months down the line, it now seems increasingly likely that the two parties will go their separate ways ahead of next season, potentially at a big financial loss for the Toffees.
