Unai Emery could now quit Aston Villa amid ‘worrying signs’
Unai Emery could walk away from Aston Villa at the end of the season after what has been a miserable run of form in the Premier League.
Emery’s side lost 2-1 against relegation-battling Tottenham last time out, and have dropped to fifth in the league table with three games left to play.
While Champions League qualification remains likely as things stand, a run of just three wins in their last 12 games is cause for major concerns at Villa Park.
Meanwhile, former Aston Villa scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Emery looks like he “doesn’t want to be there” and has grown frustrated as a result of their recent form.
This comes at a time when speculation continues to surround the boss’ future, leading to a growing feeling Aston Villa may have to find a new manager.

Brown told Football Insider on 22 April that Emery could be tempted to quit Aston Villa amid ongoing concerns about the club’s financial situation.
The boss hopes to be backed in attempts to improve his squad this summer, but amid claims they may need to sell to buy, could be left in a tricky position.

Should the club fail to match the manager’s ambitions on and off the pitch, there are clubs willing to poach him away, and recent results have only made that more likely.
“I am starting to have doubts about whether Emery will stay,” Brown told Football Insider.
“Seeing the game against Tottenham yesterday left me with a very strange feeling, it was an important game for both clubs, but Villa didn’t show up.
“I though Emery’s attitude on the bench was highly questionable, he looked like he didn’t want to be there, he wasn’t his usual energetic self.
“Now, there might be other reasons for that, but to me it looked like he was fed up.
“He knows his team haven’t been good enough lately, their form has dropped right off, and maybe he’s starting to think he could move on in the summer.
“There’s been a lot of speculation about it and there’s no smoke without fire usually, there have been some worrying signs recently and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go.”
Where could Emery go if he leaves Aston Villa?
Should Emery decide to leave Aston Villa this summer, he is likely to have no shortage of suitors, with the managerial market set to explode when the season ends.
Both Man United and Chelsea could be looking for new managers, alongside a number of top clubs on the continent including Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Brown told Football Insider in March that Emery will have options to leave Aston Villa with clubs across Europe keeping a close eye on his situation.
He has previously been tipped as a contender for the Man United job, and while that speculation has eased in recent weeks, his availability could put them on alert.
They are not the only admirers, however, and it remains to be seen whether the Spaniard will leave Villa Park, but his uncertain situation has put a number of clubs on alert.
