'Unai Emery to make Marcus Rashford demand after Aston Villa agreement'
Marcus Rashford has been told he must step up his performances after his loan move to Aston Villa from Man United in the winter transfer window.
That is according to former Villa and Man United scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his former clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Unai Emery will demand consistency from him, and he must meet those standards.
Working under a manager like Emery and what he expects from his players will be a benefit to the forward, but the pressure will be on him to make sure he lives up to expectations.
The 27-year-old opted to leave Old Trafford in search of a new challenge after a public falling-out with Ruben Amorim, and ultimately moved to Villa after extensive rumours.
However, Brown has insisted the excuses he could get away with given the situation at Man United are no longer valid, and the emphasis will be on him to step up.
Amorim had been heavily critical of Rashford's performance in training - something he has now been urged to address during his time at Villa Park.

Rashford has been publicly criticised for his level of performance at United for a while, but he has now been tipped to improve with the change of scenery.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience working closely with players at the top level after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Villa will provide the ideal opportunity for the forward to "step up his game".
"He's going to a really good club and a top-class Premier League environment," he told Football Insider.
"It's a super club, a super place to be, and he's got every opportunity now to step up his game.
"He's got no excuses now. None whatsoever. He's going to a side who are doing well at the moment and he's got a platform to showcase his ability.
"He's got to do it because he can blame the situation at Man United and say he wants a new challenge - well now he's got that.
"All of the excuses have been put aside now. His training has to improve and his performances on the pitch have to improve as well.
"Unai Emery is a top manager and he'll demand a lot of him, he wants all of his players to work hard and play at a consistent level, that could be good for Marcus.
"Now it's down to him to go out and do it. He needs to get his head down, work hard and prove he can still be the player people expect him to be.
"I hope he does, but he can't blame anything else at this point, it's up to him."
