'Unbelievable' - Exclusive: Bent blown away by 'Spectacular' West Brom ace v Bristol City
Darren Bent admits he was blown away by the performance of West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu during the Baggies’ 3-0 win over Bristol City.
The former Aston Villa and England hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says the 30-year-old has not been the most clinical of forwards this season but that he was red hot on Saturday afternoon.
The Welsh international poked home his first from close range after goalkeeper Daniel Bentley spilled the ball at his feet, before netting a second late on with a well-taken strike from an acute angle.
Bent says that both of his strikes showed off different qualities as a striker, although he was not impressed by the defender from centre-back Ashley Williams for his second.
Bent told Football Insider: “He’s done very well for them, two good goals. The first one was a good reactive finish to the keeper dropping it.
“The second goal, what a finish, outside of his left foot to curl it in, unbelievable and unbelievably bad defending from Williams!

“He’s never really been prolific but he’s good at what he does, holds the ball up, brings others into play. We know he’s got the spectacular in him.”
Robson-Kanu has now netted nine times in 28 Championship appearances for the Baggies this season, with Saturday’s brace his second and third goal in 14 games.
Manager Slaven Bilic also has the likes of Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore to call upon up front, West Brom currently leading the rest of the division at the top of the table.
In other West Brom news, Noel Whelan believes the Baggies have been dealt a bitter blow after Saturday’s win.
