Alan Hutton has been left drooling over Wolves attacker Diogo Jota and claims he “flies under the radar” due to the array of talent currently at Molineux.
The former Aston Villa full-back, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, recalled his experiences of playing against the “unbelievably talented” 23-year-old.
Jota was instrumental for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on Thursday night, scoring his second Europa League hattrick as they beat Espanyol 4-0 in the first leg of their Round of 32 tie.
Hutton drew attention to the wealth of attacking options at Molineux when discussing whether the winger receives the plaudits he deserves.
“I think he flies under the radar slightly,” the League Cup winner told Football Insider.
“I have played against him a few times and he is an unbelievably talented player. He is one of those that you do not think he is as quick as he is. You think you have got him but a drop of the shoulder and he is away.
“He is another fantastic player that they have got. Wolves are spoiled for choice when it comes to their attacking options. With the likes of Jimenez, Moutinho, Adama and Neves he flies under the radar but he is a top-quality player.”
Jota arrived from Atletico Madrid in August 2018 having spent the first half of that season on loan at the club.
Since then the Portugal international has gone on to make 116 appearances for the club, scoring a staggering 40 goals.
The return leg will be played in Spain next week with the Wanderers nailed on to progress to the next round of the competition.
