Virgil van Dijk: Pundit issues 'big' Liverpool verdict after injury update pre-Wolves
Virgil van Dijk would be the “biggest” miss for Liverpool against Wolves on Sunday, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 30-year-old “is such a leader at the back” and “makes everything tick” for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Van Dijk missed Liverpool’s 2-1 win at Southampton on Tuesday night because of an injury sustained in the FA Cup final.
Mohamed Salah and Fabinho were also missing through injury but all three are expected to be fit for the Champions League final on 28 May.
Speaking to club media (17 May), Klopp revealed he hopes Van Dijk and Salah can be involved against Wolves on Sunday in some capacity.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs who would be the biggest miss for the Reds, Campbell said: “Van Dijk is the big one.

“He’s the one they miss the most because he is such a leader at the back.
“[Ibrahima] Konate and [Joel] Matip are very, very good players and have been fantastic this season but Van Dijk makes everything tick. He is a Rolls Royce back there.
“Salah has not been himself lately. He is still a threat though. He is still a player you have to account for. At any moment he can explode.
“Liverpool have more than enough players to beat Wolves though. They have to win by any means necessary. They have the squad depth now to cope.”
