Vitor Pereira to be handed ‘big budget’ as Nottingham Forest plan contract talks
Vitor Pereira will be backed with a “big budget” as new contract plans emerge for the Nottingham Forest manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The former Wolves boss signed an 18-month deal back in February 2026, and it is now believed that Evangelos Marinakis intends to hand the 57-year-old an extension after impressing at the City Ground.
Forest are currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table, having also reached the Europa League semi-final, but with their league status confirmed, the boss has done the job he was brought in to do.
Multiple of Forest’s big names are being linked with exits, and should any of them depart, such as Elliot Anderson or Murillo, Marinakis will be keen to replace them this summer.

Pereira has won 42 per cent of his games in charge since arriving at the City Ground, so he has absolutely deserved new terms this summer, but it could be about to get much harder for him.
Anderson is expected to leave Forest, with both Manchester clubs highly interested in the midfielder, with several other stars being linked with departures over the coming months.
However, should these big names leave, Football Insider understands that Marinakis will be ready to back Pereira in the transfer market, with no question over the owner’s ambition on and off the pitch.

While many have come to terms with Anderson’s impending exit, if the Reds want to challenge next season, they will need to keep hold of Murillo, Neco Williams, Ibrahim Sangare and several other stars.
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper situation must be addressed
One area of the pitch that needs to be addressed immediately is the goalkeeper position.
Football Insider understands that Forest plan to let Stefan Ortega’s contract expire, despite some huge stops in between the sticks, and Matz Sels is strongly linked with an exit.
John Victor has now returned from his long-term injury, but from what fans have seen from the Brazilian so far, a new shot-stopper desperately needs to be on the list of transfer targets this summer.
Forest will have more than enough funds to make improvements all across the pitch, and it will be up to Pereira to make the right choices in the transfer market.
