Arsenal fans will hate what Wenger has just said about two Tottenham players
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has risked the ire of his own fans by singling out two England players for praise – both of them from Tottenham.
Speaking about England’s World Cup chances for beIN SPORTS, as quoted by the Metro, Wenger said: “England [could go to the final] because they have a good young generation, they are very efficient with Harry Kane and Dele Alli and all these players that score many goals now at international level.
“They come out of a disappointing European championships but they qualified in style and overall you cannot rule England out.”
England fans will still be hoping that Harry Kane is fit to play in the summer after missing the two recent friendlies through injury.
Dele Alli didn’t play in the two friendlies despite being in the squad, with manager Gareth Southgate saying the player hadn’t been able to complete training because of a knock, and preferring to play Jesse Lingard.

Hmm, Harry Kane we’ll give him, but we’re pretty sure that Wenger could have picked someone else apart from Dele Alli to praise. Alli wasn’t even picked by Southgate for the recent friendlies and singling out two Tottenham players for praise might be too much for Arsenal fans to take. They might be asking where the young Arsenal players are that will fire the country to glory…
