Wenham can't believe what Tottenham journalist and fans are now saying about Moura
Lucas Moura does not deserve the criticism that is being levelled at him by Tottenham fans.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Moura, 29, was criticised in the aftermath of Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to West Ham on Sunday.
PA Sport journalist Jonathan Veal heavily criticised the attacker’s output before he was hauled off by Nuno.
However, Wenham has defended Moura’s goal record and claimed some fans are quick to forget the past.
“Moura comes in for a lot of harsh criticism,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He works really hard and he’s very good in the air considering his size.
“He’s also involved in a lot of goals, he was involved when we beat Newcastle just last week.
“People are quick to point the finger at him which I don’t get considering how many important goals he’s scored for Tottenham over the years.
“He gave Tottenham fans the best memory of their lives with that hattrick in Amsterdam.
“He also has goals at Old Trafford and at the Nou Camp. People are quick to forget.
“He’s been doing more for the club recently than the likes of Steven Bergwijn for example.
“All of this is very harsh.”
Moura has scored 32 goals in 168 games for Tottenham since he joined the club in 2018.
However, he has failed to score this season in 11 appearances in all competitions.
